Well, Greg Schiano is making his presence felt. The new coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who does not want any baggage as he nears his first regular season as the top guy in Tampa, send TE Kellen Winslow to the Seattle Seahawks for a seventh round pick in the 2013 draft.
As always, it is time to grade the decision:
It depends on how you look at this. Sure, the coach got a guy out of town that would hurt the team, one that has argued with QB Josh Freeman on the sidelines. He is a solid player and a seventh round pick is not much at all, and on top of that, there is not much depth there. Luke Stocker could be a good one, but he is a while away.
The team did sign Dallas Clark to start at tight end, so they do have a veteran there with some injury issues. But, we know that the coach wants guys who have the right head on their shoulders to lead these team forward. He is making a statement from this. Could Aqib Talib be next?
With the QB situation questionable for the Pacific Northwest, you can never have too many weapons. After giving up little for Marshawn Lynch, the team strikes again, giving up nothing for Winslow.
He is another weapon, one that, if he keeps his head on straight, could make a big splash.
